Villa Fillinelle
Its origins date back to the 1100s, when it belonged to the family of Fighidelfi.
It was later transformed into a castle and then into an aristocratic villa.
It guarded the old Cassia road which was the only road that connected Rome with the North of Italy.
From Florence or Siena:
Take the Firenze–Siena freeway.
Exit at "San Donato".
Turn right towards Tavarnelle. After about 1 km you will see a sign on the right : SAMBUCA 2. Turn right onto this road, but don't go down the hill. Instead turn right immediately (you will be making almost a U turn) and you will be on our road. (Strada Fillinelle starts right at the turn). You will pass a gate on the right, stone houses on the left and we are on the right at number 5. Park in the parking lot in front of the tower.
